aftermath

‘daytime has ended’
the gradient in the sky sings
fading from orange to blue
blanket draping over charcoal mountains
as dark embers slowly burn out

the silhouetted city
has flickered to life
lantern lights blazing a trail
murky waters lit up
by the dotted stars on the buildings

the day has ended
but bustling city life goes on
despite the set sun

This is the ninth post! I’m about a third into the project! It’s a bit hard to write about the city when you’re just in a small village in the middle of nowhere, where there aren’t any skyscrapers or blinding lights in the middle of the evening. (currently in Te Anau, New Zealand) Hopefully I’ll get another one up tomorrow, throwing me back on schedule. :)
